About Us

Sadaqah Stories is a Living Halal Production that has taken off in the year 2010. This is a project to celebrate sadaqah and anything related to sadaqah!

Sadaqah: An act, not necessarily monetary, that is done from the heart with a pure intention, done in public or in private, that lightens up the recipient's nights, brightens up their days, alleviates harm, and leaves the donor with reward on the day it matters most (in sha Allah).

Examples of celebrating Sadaqah:
Story of donor's conditions: 'An unemployed person gave half of her meal to a stranger.'
Story of what happened after giving: 'The other day I gave $5 and today I got a raise in my job.'
Story of being helped by others: 'I was a needy person and one day this family helped me to finish my school, so Alhamduillah, today I have a job and I always remember their help.'
No matter how small or big the Sadaqah, sharing your stories can encourage and motivate others to give more and more!

And remember:

Abu Musa narrated that the Prophet said, “Every Muslim has to give in sadaqah” The people asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! If someone has nothing to give, what will he do?” He said, “He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns).” The people further asked, “If he cannot do even that?” He replied, “Then he should help the needy who appeal for help.” Then the people asked, “If he cannot do that?” He replied, “Then he should perform all that is good and keep away from all that is evil and this will be regarded as charitable deeds.” (Bukhari Vol. 2, Hadith 524)
