"MashaAllah, Baabun Nasr’s kindness towards non-Muslims has led several people to take their shahaadah (Allahu Akbar!). The da’waah they provide, by being pious and humble Muslims, is a great source of attraction for non-Muslims. This organization has really uplifted the community in more ways than one. I continually pray that Allah blesses this organization with much good. I pray that He enables Baabun Nasr to run smoothly so that future generations will be able to witness what I’ve witnessed and benefit the way I’ve benefited. "

A man came and asked the Sheikh, "Can I make sadaqah with the intention of getting more money in return?" The Sheikh replied by saying that one can make the intention of getting reward in this world or in the Hereafter when giving out sadaqah. Soon afterward, the man gave the Sheikh an envelop with a pile of hundred dollars in it. The Sheikh asked the man, "Does this have anything to do with the question you asked about Sadaqah the other day?" The man replied, "Whenever my business was going downhill, the more I gave away the quicker my business returned." Indeed, Allah treat us the same way we treat our bank accounts. When we give generously without counting, Allah also gives us generously without counting. If we constantly count to the pennies, Allah does the same to us. A true Muslim genuinely believes that Allah is the creator of the Heaven and the Earth, then why do we have to have any doubts on Allah's words? -- Adapted from shaikh speech

Was walking down a street when I saw a group of homeless people. I paused for a while, made dua for Allah to bless them and give thems strength. Amin. A deed of sadaqah, need not always be monetary or materialistic in nature, even the small things count.

There is this brother, let's call him Abdullah, who lent $240 to a needy brother and when the brother wanted to return the money, Abdullah told him, "It's okay, and if you insist I won't talk to you again." Then years later, Abdullah was in need and a brother lent him more than 10 thousands USD. Abdullah kept paying in installment until the brother wanted to leave the country so asked him what's the outstanding balance, Abdullah said it's $2400, and he can pay it all at once. The brother replied, "It's okay, and if you insist I won't talk to you again." (Illinois, USA)

Assalam Aleikum, I delivered the check and cash (a total of $1500) to a widow and her 7 children today. She burst into tears and became speechless when I informed her over the phone before I went. I showed them the posts regarding their situation and the donation results on HalfDate.com when I was there.

The Response of Umm Aminah after reading this page: http://halfdate.com/2010/01/12/umm-aminah-drive/ Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Al Hamdulilah in all circumstances, as I go through this page I can barely see the screen because my eyes are filled with tears. May Allah reward the believers who when they are called upon to assist me with making preparations to receive my sweet darling children back, respond without hesitation or proclamation. Subhannah Allah! In Surah Al Baqarah, Ayat 177 Allah says; "It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces towards the East or West; but it is righteousness to believe in Allah and the Last Day and the Angels and the Books and the Messengers; To spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for the orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask and for the ransom of slaves; To be steadfast in prayer and give Zakat; To fulfill the contracts which ye have made and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity and throughout all periods of panic; Such are the People of Truth, the God-fearing."

“Alhamdolilah I’m a student and I’m broke, but I still managed to donate . Many times we hesitate to donate even a couple of bucks, but don’t mind getting our twice-a-day-$3 fix at Starbucks.” -mt

“I’m currently an unemployed student! ALhamdulilah I gave $40 to this great cause. I remember when our family were refugees, how many generous people helped us with everything: clothing, food, education, etc.” -Sister A
