I'm getting married this week. Everything has been taken care of but due to some last minute expenses that came up, I started running low on money. My brother, who is a student, called me to ask me for some money, I didn't have the heart to tell him no, so I went and sent him $100. When I came back home, worried how I was going to afford some personal items I needed bc I now had no money, my mother came into my room to tell me I can have the $800 I was hanging on to for her. She said to spend it on whatever I needed. This happened just hours after I decided to give my brother the last of my money. SubhanaAllah it reminded me how the pious before us when they were broke would increase their sadaqah, it's so counter intuitive and so illogical (to give money to get money) that you have to rely on your iman to follow through. Once you do, Allah will not let you down. You will experience the iman rush that comes with the realization that you've just been given back more than you gave. I'm grateful to Allah for guiding me to give. Alhamdulilah.
